A Print Makers Journey, 2016

Exhibition
Client: Hampshire Cultural Trust

I provided curatorial services to Hampshire Cultural Trust (HCC) from 2013 – 2016. During this period I devised and curated a series of exhibitions with a wide range of artists and crafts people. The exhibitions took place across HCC’s flagship gallery spaces including: Winchester Discovery Centre and The Willis Museum in Basingstoke.

A printmakers Journey was an exhibition celebrating Angie Lewin’s highly recognisable prints, which reflect and record the time she spends sketching the native flora of the cliff tops and salt marshes of the North Norfolk coast and Scottish Highlands.

Curated by the artist with my support this exhibition included work selected from a wide range of disciplines and periods, which led the viewer through the inspirations and affinities, which have influenced her journey as a printmaker and designer. Paintings, textiles, prints, posters and ceramics by artists and designers including Eric Ravilious, Edward Bawden, Alan Reynolds and Paul Morrison were displayed alongside Angie Lewin’s work from various stages of her career.
