    Feasibility Study for Artist Residency
    Client: Lydney Park Estate

I worked with Lydney Park Estate to support the development of an artist residency programme based in The Forest of Dean. The feasibility work led to the Estate establishing a residency partnering with Matts Gallery, London.

The premise for the residency programme was to draw on the Estate’s varied assets including: greenhouses, ancient roman remains, the grain barns, the woods and meadows and Bathurst public swimming pool. The environment provides artists with opportunities to research and develop art projects in the Gloucestershire area and fosters collaboration, exchange and dialogue in the arts.

The first residency season included the following artists: Patrick Goddard, Sally O’Reilly and Alison Turnbull. The artists stayed at the Estate and shared in a community of interaction, conceptual development and production of work, including painting, film, performance, sculpture and installation.

The residency was funded by Arts Council England and Jerwood Charitable Foundation.
